xLiD-Lexica: Cross-lingual Linked Data Lexica
In this paper, we introduce our cross-lingual linked data lexica, called xLiD-Lexica, which are constructed by exploiting the multilingual Wikipedia and linked data resources from Linked Open Data (LOD). We provide the cross-lingual groundings of linked data resources from LOD as RDF data, which can be easily integrated into the LOD data sources. In addition, we build a SPARQL endpoint over our...
متن کاملInductive Lexica
Machine Learning techniques are useful tools for the automatic extension of existing lexical databases. In this paper, we review some symbolic machine learning methods which can be used to add new lexical material to the lexicon by automatically inducing the regularities implicit in lexical representations already present. We introduce the general methodology for the construction of inductive l...
متن کاملConstraint - Based Lexica
As the field of generative linguistics has developed, the lexicon has taken on an increasingly important role in the description of both idiosyncratic and regular properties of language. Always viewed as a natural home for exceptions, the lexicon was given relatively little work in the early years of transformational grammar. Then Chomsky proposed in 1970 (Chomsky, 1970) that similarities in th...
متن کاملTransforming Lexica as Trees
We investigate the problem of structurally changing lexica, while preserving the information. We present a type of lexicon transformation that is complete on an interesting class of lexica. Our work is motivated by the problem of merging one or more lexica into one lexicon. Lexica, lexicon schemas, and lexicon transformations are all seen as particular kinds of trees.
متن کاملMetadata Proposals for Corpora and Lexica
A number of metadata proposals appear to be relevant to establish a searchable and browsable domain of language resources so that users can easily discover suitable resources on the Web. These proposals differ in their approach, in their descriptive detail, in the set of linguistic data types supported by specific elements and the supporting tools. The IMDI initiative, in particular, has worked...
